Description: Kintoki was born the son of a dissolute ronin and abandoned at birth in the Ashigara Mountains, near Mount Fuji. Ha was found and raised by Yamauba, the half-woman, half-sprit who lived in the mountains and who sometimes represents a primordial feminine wildness. Yamauba called the baby Kintaro, “Golden Boy”. His companions as a child were the animals of the mountains and the Tengu, bird people, who also taught martial arts to Yoshitsune. The young boy learned many skills from them and grew up to be extremely strong.
